The Tours

If you can ride a bike and like ice cream, there’s a ride for you.

Starting from Mattapoisett Town Beach, we have a 9-mile-tour departing at 12:00 pm to Little Bay Road on the bike path, stopping at Dorothy Cox Candies mobile ice cream cart and then back to the Seaport Ice Cream Slip. This is a popular ride so register early. 

For those who want to ride a little further, we have a 25-mile tour departing at 11:00 am from the Town Beach to Little Bay Road on the bike path, stopping Dorothy Cox Candies mobile ice cream cart, continuing to West Island Creamery, and finally to Fieldstone Market Ice Cream Stand set up on Old Slough Road before returning to the finish. IMPORTANT NOTE:  The 25 mile ride will include a section (approximately 3/4 of a mile) of packed gravel one the section that leads into the Aucoot parcel. Please take this into consideration when signing up for this ride; especially if you will be riding a ROAD BIKE. The WILL BE a TURNAROUND point if you do not wish to ride on this portion of the 25 mile tour. Please view the below video for footage of this portion of the ride.

And for the true bike-and-ice-cream aficionados, we have a 45-mile ride at 10:00 am to Country Whip, the Robins Nest, Captain Bonney’s, McGraw’s Back Porch Ice Cream and West Island Creamery.

 

The rides all finish with a party at Munro Preserve on the Mattapoisett Waterfront, where we’ll have hot food, cold beverages, music, and if you can stand it, more ice cream from the Seaport Slip.

NOTE ABOUT E-BIKES:  E-bikes that are compliant with Massachusetts State Law (pedal-assist), Class 1 & 2, are allowed to participate. However, an E-bike shall NOT BE ALLOWED by any person under sixteen years of age, nor at a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour.
